Family Activity Days Keswick
There's been a heatwave going on here in the Lakes District, with lovely blue skies and a big orange orb up above, pretty magic.
And we've been out making the most of it, on Monday with Anne, Andy, Catherine, and Laura. On a family holiday from the fine town of Bath. As they were staying in the North Lakes, not far from Keswick, we arranged an Adventure Day in the Borrowdale valley.
We began with rock climbing at Upper Shepherds crag. This delightful outcrop of volcanic rock is in a superb position, we enjoyed around 4 climbs and a scramble up to the mini summit to soak up the views over Derwent Water and beyond.
This was followed by tea & cakes at the Lodore Farm cafe, delicious. Then off to the Bowderstone for a spot of bouldering for the girls whilst mum & dad enjoyed a relaxing lunch break.
We finished the day with an abseil at the nearby quarry. Both girls and dad were soon whizzing down the quarry face, with Catherine & Laura coming back for more, fantastic.
With big smiles all round and 2 tired 10 year olds, my job was down. It's always such a pleasure and so rewarding to see a happy youngster at the end of an activity day. For more information about the activities we offer here in the Lake District please check out our Activities page here
Big thanks to the Ellis family, lovely to meet you.
