Stickle Ghyll Scramble
Yesterday we were out for a day of Rock Scrambling and luckily avoided the heavy rain that arrived soon after we were down off the hill. This gave us dry rock to enjoy all day and 2 great scrambling routes.
After last nights rain, the Ghylls were in full flow and exciting. We were in the Langdale valley for a trip up Stickle Ghyll with a group of 9 students from Lancaster University.
Everyone got stuck in and soon there was lots of swimming going on. We jumped into plunge pools, scrambled up waterfalls, and boulder-hopped our way up the Gorge, having a whole stack of fun.
Ending this trip on a high with some huge splashes and waves in the top plunge pool. I think hot chocolates were on the cards once down at Stickle Barn Tavern.
A grand afternoon out and we finished just as the rain returned, perfect timing once again. Thanks to Rachel for organising this activity with us.
From now until September is the best time to enjoy Gorge Scrambling and / or Canyoning here in the Lake District. If you'd like to give it a go, give us a call and let's make it happen.
