Walking Challenges Lake District - 8 Peaks

Last weekend we had back to back challenge events happening, both being 8 Peaks Challenges. This all started with an enquiry from Paul regarding an 8 Peaks Challenge. We put a plan together, Paul gathered together a strong team and 7 hours 23 minutes after leaving the Old Dungeon Ghyll we had all the summits in the bag.

The weather was about as perfect as is possible, with mostly clear conditions meaning it was easy to cut a few corners between mountains whilst remaining on relatively straightforward terrain. Apart from Scafell Pike, all the mountains were quiet. We watched the Borrowdale Fell Race runners come through whilst on Great End, Kate was running in this and looking strong, went on to win her category and the younger category too, go Kate!

On Sunday we welcomed Sushi and her family for round two of the 8 Peaks Challenge. Our associate guide Richie was taking care of this one and by all accounts another rapid round of peaks in mostly very good weather.

A big thanks to all for taking part and a special thanks must go to Paul for suggesting this challenge to us.

In case you're wondering what the 8 Peaks are:

Bowfell - Esk Pike - Ill Crag - Scafell Pike - Broad Crag - Great End - Allan Crags - Rossett Pike

For a fit and active team this is a very achievable challenge that really is seriously satisfying.

We still have some availability during September, if you're keen to arrange a Walking Challenge Lake District' or any other activity please do check out our Challenges page
