More fun days here on the Costa Blanca. Helen, Ian, and Rowan are staying with us this week. Ian has been running, walking, and swimming. Whilst Helen & Rowan have been out at the crags with me.
Single pitch sport climbing at the brillant Alcalali crag, only 5 minutes from our base in Llosa de Camacho. We have also been on 2 via ferrata routes and enjoyed some fine walks in the local area.
Walk 1 being to the 'Cova de la Garganta': An impressive cave only a short walk from the nearby village of Senija. Folklore has it that the cave was used by bandits waiting to prey on passing traders, using the cave for cover and as a store for their loot!
Walk 2 was to Castellet de l'Ocaive: We saved this for the afternoon, when the sun is low in the sky and shining brightly onto the crags below, such a magnificent sight. From the summit, it's clear to see why the Moors chose this location for a lookout castellet, for the views in all directions are outstanding.
