Both of us were keen to get out on the crags and enjoy some rock climbing, but we also had an agenda in the form of CPD. The focus being rescue skills and techniques to help stuck or injured climbers. We spent about 5 days going over many scenarios and most definitely felt up-to-speed at the end of it.
We did manage to fit in a big route on El Penon d'Ifach. Via Pany made for a perfect day out for me, Kate and Tricia. On the North side of this huge sea stack we found the coolness of shade and began an ascent of this long and fun route. Graded VS (Very Severe) but feeling a little easier than a VS here in the Lakes (don't they all)!
7 pitches covering some spectacular terrain on mostly excellent rock, finishing on the summit of El Penon. Upon arrival I was immediately asked if people could have their photos taken with me, fame at last 😉
Big thanks to Kate, Ann, and Tricia for joining me on the crags this week and being patient whilst I performed many a 'traverse rescue'!
