We began at Hodge Close quarry and after going through abseil skills on a practice rope, it was over to the edge, a full 30m of vertical wall below so this is pretty intense, especially for those having never tried it before!
Everyone was really supportive, with gentle encouragement and no pressure. This is always a good way to go about it and gives good results, especially from an enjoyment point of view. Some of the team managed 3 abseils, top effort.
Lunch was enjoyed at the New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel whilst me & Joe prepared for the afternoons activities, Gorge Scrambling in Stickle ghyll.
Water levels were prefect, making for fun waterfall climbs, swims, and plunge pool jumps. Again, the team spirit shone through, with plenty of help and support for all.
A really fun day, thanks very much to Alexa and all the team at Cardinal Maritime, and to Joe for helping with the activities.
