High water levels in Stickle ghyll, Langdale
On Thursday both me & Kate were enjoying time in Stickle Ghyll, Langdale. Overnight rain had brought the water level very high, making even the simplest sections of gorge very challenging. Conditions like this are brilliant, the sound and power of water is wonderful and to negotiate a safe path through it is a privilege we are thankful of.
The air and water temperature was very pleasant, so swimming could be enjoyed to the full and some pool jumping.
As I write this, heavy rain is here again and we're back in the gorge tomorrow morning, fingers crossed for lots of water!
