Abseiling

Booking Form

What is it?
Ever stood on a cliff top and peered over a 150ft sheer drop?

That's a long way down and it’s sure to raise a heartbeat!

Traditionally used by rock climbers as a means of descent. In recent years abseiling has become a fun activity in its own right.

Once over the edge and descending smoothly, a sense of satisfaction and achievement washes over you, this is usually accompanied by a sense of relief!

Stepping back over the edge is definitely the ‘main event’, but it’s not without plenty of build up, and whatever location we use, there’ll be other great attractions & views to keep everyone entertained.

We’re close at hand the whole time to ensure your safety and enjoyment of the experience.

Before your exhilarating abseil descent down the sheer cliff face, you will have a full safety briefing and any questions you have will be answered.
Abseiling is all about controlling your own speed, and that's exactly what you'll be doing, but rest assured we'll be there to back things up the whole time.
What to do when you've done it? Go again!

Where is it?
There are a variety of Abseiling venues around the Lake District, all are easy to access, often only requiring a very short walk from the parking place.  A few venues are listed below:
  • Cathedral quarry - Little Langdale (near Ambleside)
  • Hodge close quarry - Yewdale (Coniston)
  • Tilberthwaite quarry - Yewdale (Coniston)
  • Bowderstone quarry - Borrowdale (near Keswick)

Who is it for?
This isn't an activity that requires a high level of fitness, in fact, physical exertion is quite low, but excitement levels are high!!
So it's suitable for a wide variety of groups and families. Bring a sense of adventure and you'll love it.
