Mountain Journeys

It’s good to be busy….

It's been a fabulous couple of weeks here, with so much going on and so many lovely people coming to see us and enjoy the great outdoors here in the Lake District.
Back on the 9th July we arranged a corporate day out for www.storiesbylove.com  - and this was a day out for the whole company, so we had plenty to keep us busy, with a team of 5 instructors with us to help.
A really fine afternoon was enjoyed by all in Stickle Ghyll. The sun shone and the day warm. After much playing in the water, jumping, swimming, climbing waterfalls, and boulder hoping, all retreated to the pub for a well earned pint looking out over the beautiful Langdale valley.
We then had the pleasure of welcoming back returning customers Jason & Lyn, who brought along their friends Andy & Sarah. We Rock Scrambled during the morning and all had a go at Abseiling at Hodge Close quarry in the afternoon. For a first go 40 metres is a long way to Abseil, well done all. Thankfully the sun shone yet again today, yippee!
And at the weekend it was back to Stickle Ghyll for more Gorge Scrambling fun, this time with Eva & Mario from Madrid.
Whilst the weather was yet again on our side, I think the Mercury was still at least 20C less than Madrid!!!
Lovely to meet you both and practice a little bit of Spanish.

Guided walking has been happening a plenty too. 3 days spent with Ruth from Chicago. We enjoyed walks around Elterwater & Colwith Force, Grasmere & Rydal, and Wansfell & Troutbeck.
Don joined us for the Wansfell walk and of course managed to be super cute throughout, such a charmer that he is.

I also ran an introductory rock climbing session at Shepherds crag in Borrowdale. This was for our friends at Lakeland Ascents. We climbed Jackdaw Ridge up to the Belvedere, from where stunning views over the lake can be had.
Afterwards I stayed on at Shepherds crag and climbed the Classic Rock route Little Chamonix with Anna.

There have also been multi-activity days, family climbing sessions, guided walks to Helvellyn, and rock scrambles in the Coniston area all happening this week.

Thanks everyone for making us busy, we love it.
